What changed
Max Christie has been working on more than his jumper. In reporting published September 29, Grant Afseth of Dallas Sports Journal detailed Christie’s summer ball-handling work and Dusty May’s interest in using him in more than one perimeter role.
May’s media-day comments described a player who could handle the ball at times as well as work away from it. Christie also discussed the time he spent at the team facility, with workouts covering conditioning, shooting while tired and on the move, and defensive work.
That gives us a specific development to follow as camp continues: how often Dallas puts the ball in Christie’s hands to initiate an action, rather than asking him only to finish one.
